Use a controlled first article or pilot when risk warrants it
A previous supplier’s accepted part does not automatically validate a new process. Define what the first article must prove, how many parts are included, which revision governs, what evidence is returned, and who can approve a deviation. Test with actual mating parts or use conditions when those are part of the buyer’s requirement.
